Happy 200th posts! Great, i'm so glad we can start another century of posts without some morons coming to insult us unlike the last time.
Anyway, i'm sure everyone knows the big big event happening tomorrow in Berlin. It's the World Cup final where Italy takes on France! It's going to be such a good match you guys all have to watch. So let me give you a little foretaste of what is to come.
It's going to be inspirational french captain Zinedine Zidane pitting his skills against Italy's playmaker Andrea Pirlo. Italian captain Fabio Cannavaro will be doing his best to contain Thierry Henry, Lillian Thuram will have his hands full with Francesco Totti while Patrick Viera and Gennaro Gattuso will do battle in the middle of the pitch.
I should imagine that to the non football fans, the paragraph above might as well have been written in Krytonite(is that what superman and his family speaks back home in Krypton?). Yet, when Italy takes on France in the World Cup final for the right to be world champions in the footballing world, it transcends mere football and goes right into the culture of the French and Italian. You can imagine tomorrow's battle to be likened to:
1. The Souffle versus the Tiramisu for World's best dessert
2. Champ Elysees versus Via Condotti for World's most famous shopping street
3. The Seine versus the Tiber River for the World's most famous river
4. Minestrone versus French garlic soup for the World's yummiest soup
5. Pizza against the French baguette for World's best dough
6. Monica Bellucci versus Laetitia Casta for World's hottest woman
7. St Peter's Basilica versus the Notre Dame for World's grandest church
....and so on and so forth. Yeah you get the idea hopefully.
My prediction? I think Zidane will lead the French to victory against the Italians. Watch this space!
