This has got to be Becks and Co's year. After suffering the heartbreak of crashing out in the last two major tournaments, the English are determined to lift the World Cup this time around. Much will rest on the shoulders of star striker Wayne Rooney who's battling to be fit to take part in the competition, but even without the teen prodigy, England can call upon the likes of Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, David "Golden Balls" Beckham and Rio Ferdinand to deliver the goods. This is the strongest England team for years and is it any coincidence that this year will be exactly 40 years to the time England last won the World Cup? Time will tell. 3. Argentina Brazil's arch rivals Argentina have a point to prove to their doubters, especially after their dismal showing at the last World Cup. With young talents like Leo Messi and Carlos Tevez spearheading their bid for glory, they could yet clinch the world title this year after impressing in the qualifiers. Anyway, a team of Argentina's quality can never be written off. 4. France Though many don't think the French will get far this time round, i firmly believe that they have a great chance. While much attention is centred upon young players like Rooney, Theirry Henry is arguably the best player going into the World Cup. The Arsenal skipper has the ability to drag his country all the way to the final if he plays with the same passion and zest as he does for Arsenal. And let's not forget Zinedine Zidane, one of the best players ever to grace the football stage. Into the twilight of his career, there might just be enough energy left in him to inspire his country to victory. 5. Holland

1. Brazil
With the dazzling array of star talent at their disposal, reigning champions Brazil are definitely the team to beat in the competition. The likes of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Adriano are regarded as demi gods in the world of football for their skill with the ball and rightly so. Expect them to entertain all the way to the final.
2. England
Well folks, that's the lowdown on the top teams to watch out for this world cup. I can't seem to load up pictures at the moment, so just enjoy the chunky paragraphs till Friendster allows me to post up pictures at a later date. In the meantime, stay happy!
